Forged with blue steel (Yasugi steel) that contains iron and tungsten (for hardness), chromium (for tenacity) and alloy carbide (for hardness).Due to its resistance to wear abrasion and excellent durability, it makes a great usuba knife (Kanto-style).Most suitable as a kitchen knife for vegetables, it is a perfect for fine cutting such as slicing thin strips, making vegetable carvings and strips.

Handle

Wood of the deciduous tall Magnoliaceae tree that is grown in forests around Japan is used to craft the handle. Being light and soft, this type of wood can be processed very easily. Besides being used to produce knife handles and sheath, Magnoliaceae wood is also widely used as a material for sculpture, lacquerware, furniture, musical instrument and more.

This Japanese petit knife is a mixed designed of Japanese and Western style;
with a Japanese knife-style handle and a single-material blade, designed for Japanese
cuisine chefs to comfortably handle along with a touch of traditional Japanese 'wa' in its style.
